TPI Results
I am not sure what to think about the results of my Teaching Perspectives Inventory (TPI). Since the results depend on so many factors, such as time of the day, mood, subject area, etc., in this particular instance, my TPI results appear to suggest that a combination of nurturing, developmental, and apprenticeship perspectives are dominant. It is somewhat surprising to me that the nurturing perspective was the most dominant one. I think that when it comes down to the debate between nature and nurture, I would prefer to situate myself on the side of nurture, partly because I believe that a person’s development is influenced by contextual experiences. I sometimes believe in persistent effort to achieve whatever that I want to achieve. It may be the case why some learners can be nurtured with their own effort to succeed at learning. I also don’t know if this debate also boils down to intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation or a combination of these two in regards to achievement.
Within each perspective, it seems like my sub-scores for beliefs, intention, and actions are in the range of +- 2 points, which may suggest that there is an absence of variability between these sub-scores. With this snapshot of my TPI results, it might indicate that the instrument is consistent in measuring my beliefs, intentions, and actions are aligned.

Interesting!
